The Power Up ⎯ SN.03/EP.03
Prioritization Tips Every Entrepreneur Can Learn From
When you’re a small business owner you don’t get to close your office door for the day and be done. The pressure of your success and carrying out all the exciting ideas you have in your head can take a toll. Christine Howard from Healing Hedge Witch describes it as drinking out of a fire hose. It has taken a lot of practice, but Christine has learned that you are in control of the nozzle and it’s okay to tighten it up a bit.
This often means setting certain projects aside if they require too much effort and doubling down on what works. For Christine, stopping the search for a loyalty program that works for them and spending that money and time on free gifting or takeaways for customers. She shares, “Just giving yourself that permission that it’s okay. It might not be ideal, it might not be what people want, or what people are asking for. But I have to get myself in the space of creating demand for the summer… even though I’m not making everybody happy today and that’s okay.”

About Our Guest
Christine never planned to go into the retail industry but when the idea for Healing Hedge Witch popped up in her head one day. At the time she worked for a manufacturing company and had a negative connotation of owning a small business, but she couldn’t shake this idea she had. She attributes the slower pace of life from the Covid-19 pandemic, gave her idea space to form.
While Christine still works in manufacturing during the day-to-day, she is able to balance that with owning a small business. She enjoys helping with events, the purchasing shows, and pouring over the back-end data to ensure everything is running smoothly while she is not there.
